Brian McLeod
was accepted as a student by the Venerable Namgyal Rinpoche
in 1978. He studied and worked at the Dharma Centre
of Canada from 1984 to 1989, lived in the Eastern Arctic
until 2006, and now lives in Winnipeg with his wife
and two children. Since the death of Namgyal Rinpoche
he has considered these three people to be his principal
teachers.
He has been
actively involved in questions of business and livelihood
with a number of different Inuit organizations, acting
as President of an Inuit-owned development corporation,
and CEO of a not-for-profit (NPO) focusing on employment,
training, and business start-ups. He has been teaching
dharma and leading retreats in Canada and Germany since
1999.
Underlying
Brian's approach is the conviction that the Buddha's
teachings must be made comprehensible to ordinary North
Americans. They don't have to agree, but they must understand
what you are talking about.
